UncoverU partners with Project WeHOPE & Women’s Voices Now

9- 17 year old participants will engage in community issues

Sunnyvale, CA, July 17, 2018– Project WeHOPE and Women’s Voices Now (WVN), announced by UncoverU as their first official nonprofit .

These partnerships allow UncoverU to offer their 9- 17 year old workshop and after school program participants exposure to complex socio-economic and gender issues in the communities around them. It enables our nonprofit partners the opportunity to reach a younger demographic in the SF Bay Area, building awareness and inspiring community leadership in these socially relevant and topical

“The vision of UncoverU is to build a world where everyone lives their potential and no one is left behind,” said Sandy Rao, UncoverU Founder. “The key to this is creating robust communities, and the building blocks of robust communities is the ability to communicate intentions, ideas, and commitments to self, family and the larger world. At the core of UncoverU programs is the belief that, to change the world, our youth need to activate their superpowers of play, empathy, compassion, responsibility, and grace. The key to the expression of these superpowers is to master communication in the three pillars of success and happiness – Self, Family, and Community.

As I think about the things that [UncoverU] can create with the students, I think of: an environment that is other centered instead of self centered, an environment where we are curious, we ask questions instead of thinking we have the answers; an environment that is accepting of people regardless of race, religion, sexual identity, etc. and has zero tolerance of bullying or exclusion; an environment where honor and integrity are at the helm; and an environment where people feel comfortable in their own skin.” Alicia Garcia, M.A., Associate Director, Project WeHOPE.

“…this spirit of collaboration is exactly what we need more of in this making-the-world-a-better-place work.” Heidi Basch-Harod, Executive Director, Women’s Voices Now.
